The Availability of Our Fire Stations
Full-Time Duty System fire stations
Our Full-Time Duty System fire stations are crewed 24/7 by Full-Time firefighters. Availability for first and second fire engines is consistently achieved by all fire stations. We are reviewing our current approach to Full-Time shift systems as part of our commitment to an inclusive working environment. We are required to report on productivity and how we plan Prevention and Protection activities throughout the shift. We are continuously looking at improvements to make sure that shift systems maximize efficiency.

On-Call Duty System fire stations
Our On-Call Duty System fire stations are crewed by individuals living and often working within the local communities around the fire station. The performance standard for the first fire engine is 95% availability. The performance standard for the second fire engine is 80% availability. Our crewing availability model is informed and managed against Service intervention standards.
Our intervention standards also relate to the time it takes to get a fire engine to a fire in the home based on areas of risk.
